Responsibilities:
Performs various support functions to the very busy daily processes of the Clerk of Court's office.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Coordinates the service of notices of court orders by mail to appropriate parties involved.
Interprets and analyzes orders to determine disposition thereof by SC Law and Rules of Civil Procedures; interprets rules regarding appeals, referrals, retrials, and remands.
Interprets all motions filed and routes to the proper court.
Processes judgments and enters them.
Serves as liaison with the Court Coordinator for the jury and non-jury court and motions; maintains motions calendar.
Assembles all files listed on the roster to make available to the court; assembles files for motion hearings.
Posts and files documents to docket sheets such as affidavits, motions, appeals, and orders; completes and ends docket sheets; prepares updates to docket sheets and transmits them to the Court Administration via computer.
Files and keeps up with pending and closed files, pending and ended docket sheets, and closed cross-indexes.
Responsible for processing new general session warrants and/or dispositions.
Ability to receive, open, clocks, and distributes daily incoming mail.
Responsible for processing all Fireworks License applications.
Ability to assist with General Sessions/Common Pleas, data entry, processing new Common Pleas cases; ability to pull cases for Common Pleas Court Rosters and customer service transactions (i.
e.
, receiving fines, fees, etc.
) Examines legal documents submitted to the court for adherence to a law or court procedures, prepares case folders, and posts, files, or routes documents.
Explains procedures or forms to parties in the case.
Performs data entry and otherwise utilizes the computer to maintain files, create documents, etc.
Conducts criminal searches for other law enforcement agencies, employers, etc.
Answers the telephone, greets visitors, answers questions and/or provides information, and makes referrals to other individuals, departments, or agencies/organizations.
Performs other related duties as required.
Requirements:
Must have a valid SC Driver's License or ability to obtain one Minimum
Qualifications:
Formal Education and Experience High School diploma or equivalency 3 to 5 years' experience.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
