JOB DUTIES &
Essential Functions:
Ability to distinguish colors of products, identify defects, and prepare a quality disposition.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and to make decisions with respect to the acceptability of production parts.
Assist in the resolution of problems and responding to customer and supplier needs.
Assist in the conducting of various gauge, dimensional, and process capability studies, which may require the use of a variety of measuring devices such as the optical comparator, the CMM, and a variety of manual measuring devices and fixtures.
Create, maintain, and update procedures for each part number.
Interpretation of engineering drawings.
Maintain a daily logbook on quality critical process data with other Technicians.
Maintain the necessary gauges, tools, meters, instruments, and equipment in the calibration system along with all records required.
Maintain various filing systems, including material certs and other customer-generated quality standards.
Perform input for capability studies and statistical process control (SPC).
Perform routine daily production inspections which may include, recording molding machine data, recording machine cycle times, collecting scrap information, advising the production supervisors of unsatisfactory quality levels, monitoring production operations, and alerting appropriate supervisors of potential quality problems Performing product testing, which may involve routine on-going tests, such as salt spray, humidity, CASS, thermocycling, gravimeter, adhesion, and film build, and may involve special procedures involving other test equipment such as the CMM and Chatillon.
Follow standard operating procedures to ensure proper quality of work and efficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES):
High School Diploma required AND; 1 year of automotive parts inspection and auditing experience AND; Must possess demonstrated analytical capability; ability to work independently and as part of a team; good oral and electronic communication; ability to read, write, and speak English Satisfactory result of color hue and sorting testing, use of basic hand tools, use of complex measuring tools experience is required.
Physical Demands:
Typical work environment includes standing, walking, using hand tools, and lifting product for 6 hours per day, and sitting 2-hours per day, on a Monday through Friday schedule per week.
Normal environment temperature is 75 deg F with relative humidity of 35%.
Employee must have a valid driver's license to operate company vehicles.
Break/Lunch periods are typical in an 8-hour day.
Working up to a 10-hour day is on occasion.
Personal protective equipment includes safety glasses and general duty gloves.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
