ASSESSOR'S OFFICE
Responsibilities:
Responsible for greeting and helping taxpayers and the general public at the front counter of the Assessor's office; answering the phone, filing, pulling files, and performing related work and duties as assigned.
Assist with address changes, legal residence, exempt properties, and mobile homes.
Review real estate documents, mapping information and real estate records for the public, taxpayers, and office staff to ensure accurate information is on file for the Assessor's office.
Communicates with attorneys, office staff and customers regarding real estate records.
Instructs customers on use of the public workstations.
Use of the AS400 system will be required for logging/processing work.
Must have excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, Email).
Must be able to multi-task and have strong organization skills and attention to detail.
Must be able to take directions well, ask questions, be able to work independently and with a team; will be working at the direction of the Office Manager and Deputy Clerks.
This job includes the use of a 4-step ladder for the file system.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
